Full-Time Grip & Art Department


Reporting to the Production Manager, the grip/art department person will assist in creating videos, primarily for, but not limited to, our Youtube channels LinusTechTips, TechLinked, and TechQuickie.

Duties Include:

- Set up and operation of cameras, lighting, and audio recording devices
- Ingest and sorting of media

- Defining and creating overall look of our sets by designing, building and decorating the sets either personally or by hiring contractors for construction depending on the scope of the project and includes constantly refreshing props.


Required:

- Lighting Grid Rigging / General On-Set Rigging Knowledge
- Understanding of different types of camera builds and Gimbal Set-up Experience
- Know how to use a DSLR, RED, and ENG/Camcorder type cameras
- Knowledge of different types of lighting fixtures e.g. LEDs, HMIs, Tungsten Lamps
- Must have good communication skills
- A Positive attitude
- Great problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with a team or independently
- Strong communication skills

- Ability to manage own time and work with a sense of urgency

- Interior design, set designer, set decorating/dressing, and construction work experience

Accounting Manager

We are looking for an Accounting Manager who will manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department to ensure that we’re establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. This includes supervising, tracking, evaluating daily activities including developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:

  • Month and end-year process 

  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Cash receipts and reimbursements

  • Payroll, cheque runs, bank deposits

  • Budgeting, cash management

  • Revenue and expenditure variance analysis

  • Capital assets and other various general ledger reconciliations

  • Fixed asset activity

  • General administrative duties 

  • Government filings and reporting ie: GST, PST, etc.

  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements both monthly and yearly

  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles

  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

  • Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy

  • Meet financial accounting objectives

  • Purchase audit and review

Job Requirements

  • Proven working experience in an accounting office with a complete yearly accounting cycle

  • Previous experience working in video production company desirable

  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and Quickbooks 

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Very analytical

  • Ability to direct and supervise

  • Positive attitude

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Ability to work with a team or independent

Education Requirements

  • Accounting degree or BCIT finance graduate

  • Enrolled in CPA program or recent graduate

Video Editor & Camera Operator

Reporting to the Production Manager, the video editor/camera operator will be creating videos, primarily for, but not limited to, our Youtube channels LinusTechTips, TechLinked, and TechQuickie. 

Responsibilities

  • Editing videos

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to think independently and quickly!

  • Advanced understanding of Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition

  • Advanced understanding of audio

  • Advanced understanding of design, including the use of Photoshop and Illustrator

  • After Effects skills would help

  • Be able to operate a RED camera, DSLRs, and action cams

  • Good understanding of lighting

  • A Positive attitude

  • Great problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work with a team or independently

  • Strong communication skills.

Graphic Designer

Reporting to the COO, the graphic designer will create and modify designs for physical products such as t-shirts or other merchandise, signage for live events and in-office use, and digital use on our YouTube channels & other websites or stores.

Duties include:

  • Creating original designs suitable for use on t-shirts and other merchandise

  • Working within (& creating new) branding guidelines for selected IPs

  • Producing signage for live events

  • Exploring new merchandise ideas beyond the standard; t-shirts, hoodies, water bottles, etc.

  • Managing your own schedule to meet production deadlines

  • Potentially building relationships with suppliers both locally and overseas to create & distribute physical products, depending on interest & capability

Required:

  • 2+ years of visual design experience

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

  • Passion for graphic art & illustration

  • Understanding of visual identity graphic design

  • Strong design portfolio

  • Interest in technology & digital content creation

  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment

  • Positive attitude

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in clothing manufacturing & design

  • Ability to create fabric patterns based on digital designs

  • Nuanced understanding of fabrics - type, weight, & fitment

  • Ability to speak, read, & write Mandarin and/or Cantonese

Social Media Manager

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the Social Media Manager will assist and lead posting of organic social media content to company channels. They’ll also work with the production and business teams to coordinate sponsor campaigns.

Duties Include:

  • Posting and managing the release schedule of all social posts to company accounts

  • Evaluating engagement and working with the community to grow our presence on social media organically

  • Taking time to explore new social media opportunities

  • Assisting the business team to coordinate and execute sponsored posts in a creative and fun manner

  • Working with the business and production teams to help manage our sponsor spot release calendar

Required:

  • At least 2 years of experience managing social media accounts

  • Must possess love and understanding of technology and gaming

  • Must have a positive attitude

  • Competent writing and copywriting skills

  • Great organizational skills

  • Ability to work with a team or independently

  • Previous sales experience is a bonus
